About

A city feels different when someone lets you in.

Rban connects people with the independent, curious and creative side of Milan. Real places, local relationships and experiences you can be part of, whether you’re here for a weekend or call the city home.

Sarah Zarrillo, founder of Rban Tours

An independent project

Less sightseeing.
More taking part.

Rban is a way of discovering Milan through the people and places that give it character. Independent shops, stories hidden in familiar streets, a table where strangers sit down to paint: different experiences, the same invitation to get involved.

The routes are built around local relationships, not a list of landmarks. There’s time to ask questions, follow a curiosity and meet the people behind an address. Small groups make the experience a conversation rather than a performance.

Behind the project is Sarah Zarrillo, a Milan local who brings together the places she knows and the people who make them special. That personal connection shapes Rban, but the story is the city’s, and there’s room for yours in it.

01

Independent places

Small shops, neighbourhood addresses and people who know their own stock. No chains, no paid recommendations.

02

Stories, not scripts

Local knowledge, honest recommendations and a clear distinction between documented history and local legend.

03

Time to be curious

Small groups, a pace that leaves room for questions, and no rush to move to the next stop.

Paint ’n Sip

One experience with its own personality.

Paint ’n Sip is part of the Rban world but has a look and a mood of its own: brushes, a table, a drink, and a couple of hours that don't require any talent. It's the experience most likely to bring in people who live in Milan — residents and expats who wanted an evening out rather than a tour.

Each date has its own venue, price and inclusions, because the format works in different spaces. Nothing is confirmed until a date is published.

Good company along the way

Hosting on Airbnb since 2022 has brought guests from around the world, including creators such as The Millennial Decorator. The experience has also been featured by:

  • FACT Magazine
  • Escape
  • BBC Good Food ME
  • Avani Hotels

Lovely to be noticed. Still, the best part is hearing that someone felt they found their own little corner of Milan.
